QMJHL Roundup: Legare scores winner, Foreurs beat Sagueneens to take Game 1

QUEBEC – Nathan Legare scored the go-ahead goal at 10:40 of the third period as the Val-d’Or Foreurs topped the Chicoutimi Sagueneens 5-2 on Monday in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League playoff action.

Samuel Poulin and Emile Lauzon added goals 1:32 apart following Legare’s winner to help Val-d’Or take Game 1 of the best-of-five third-round series.

Alexandre Doucet and Maxim Cajkovic also scored for the Foreurs, who got 21 saves from Jonathan Lemieux.

Hendrix Lapierre and Pierrick Dube found the back of the net for the Sagueneens while Alexis Shank stopped 23 shots.

Val-d’Or forward Jacob Gaucher was ejected at 18:34 of the third for a checking to the head major.
