Quebec Remparts top Rimouski Oceanic 5-2 to reach QMJHL semifinals

RIMOUSKI, Que. – James Malatesta scored a goal and added an assist to lead the Quebec Remparts to a 5-2 victory over the Rimouski Oceanic Friday and advance to the QMJHL semifinals, taking the series 3-1.

Zachary Bolduc scored an empty-net goal and added two assists for three points in the Remparts win.

William Dumoulin opened the scoring in the game, giving the Oceanic a 1-0 lead at the 17:16 mark of the first period.

Quebec would pile on after that, scoring four straight goals between the second and third periods before Xavier Cormier finally responded at 16:21 of the third, making it 4-2 Quebec.

The Remparts finished the regular season with a QMJHL-best 104 points and a 51-15-2-0 record.

They will see the Shawinigan Cataractes in the next round.
