Lots of trade talk going on
Craig Custance: San Jose Sharks GM Doug Wilson on the trade market: “There’s been more conversation and communication between GMs in the last month than maybe ever since I’ve been a GM.”
Trade Bait
Frank Seravalli of TSN: Teams have been calling the Toronto Maple Leafs about defenseman Nikita Zaitsev, who has five years left at $4.5 million. The Vancouver Canucks are among the teams.
Tyler Myers is another defenseman on the Canucks radar.
In the right deal, the Canucks may be willing to move their first-round pick – 10th overall.
It is believed that the Winnipeg Jets had been offering forward Nikolaj Ehlers to the Carolina Hurricanes for a right-handed defenseman.

Clarkson’s no-trade list
Jesse Granger: Sources saying that Vegas Golden Knights forward David Clarkson has submitted his no-trade list to the team.
Clarkson has one year left on his deal at a $5.25 million salary cap hit. They’ll try to move his salary cap hit around the draft.
Jesse Granger: Clarkson’s list is just paperwork and they have to do it. It doesn’t mean they will trade his contract, but know they have the option to do so if they want.
