The Tampa Bay Lightning have traded forward J.T. Miller to the Vancouver Canucks for a conditional 2020 first round pick, 2019 3rd round pick and a Marek Mazanec.

Condition is if the Canucks miss the playoffs next season, it becomes a 2021 first round pick.

The 26-year old Miller was drafted 15th overall in the 1st round round of the 2011 draft by the New York Rangers. He carries a $5.25 million salary cap hit for another four years.

Pierre LeBrun: “The Canucks are taking on the full weight of JT Miller’s contract which has four more years at a $5.25M cap hit. That’s key for cap-challenged Tampa obviously. The Canucks get a real good player though.”
