Pittsburgh re-signs Blandisi to one-year deal

The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-signed forward Joseph Blandisi to a one-year, two-way contract.

Blandisi, 24, skated in 54 AHL games with San Diego and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton in 2018-19, totaling 17 goals and 26 assists for 43 points — all AHL career bests.

Blandisi also appeared in nine NHL games between Anaheim and Pittsburgh last season.

A sixth-round pick by Colorado in the 2012 NHL Draft, Blandisi was acquired by the Penguins in a trade with Anaheim on Jan. 16, 2019. He has totaled eight goals and 18 assists for 26 points in 80 career NHL games with the Penguins, Ducks and New Jersey Devils.

The native of Markham, Ont., has played 158 AHL games over his four professional seasons, amassing 42 goals and 78 assists for 120 points with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, San Diego, Binghamton and Albany.
