Avalanche, Sharks swing trade

The Colorado Avalanche have acquired goaltender Antoine Bibeau from the San Jose Sharks in exchange for defenseman Nicolas Meloche.

Bibeau, 25, appeared in 35 AHL games for the San Jose Barracuda last season, going 16-13-5 with a 2.89 goals-against average, a .904 save percentage and one shutout.

An AHL All-Star in 2018, Bibeau has played 182 games in the AHL with San Jose and Toronto, posting a record of 95-60-20 with a 2.71 GAA, a .909 save percentage and 16 shutouts.

Bibeau was a sixth-round choice by Toronto in the 2013 NHL Draft and made his NHL debut in 2016-17, appearing in two games with the Maple Leafs.

Meloche, 22, notched six goals and 15 assists for 21 points in 55 AHL games with the Colorado Eagles last season.

Meloche enters his third pro season with 11 goals and 27 assists in 113 career AHL contests, playing for Colorado and San Antonio.

Meloche was a second-round selection by the Avalanche in the 2015 NHL Draft.
