Penguins sign Noesen to AHL deal

The Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins have signed forward Stefan Noesen to an American Hockey League contract for the 2019-20 season.

Noesen, 26, skated in 41 NHL games for the New Jersey Devils last season, notching three goals and five assists. In 2017-18, he collected 13 goals and 14 assists in 72 games with the Devils.

A first-round choice by Ottawa in the 2011 NHL Draft, Noesen has skated in 159 career NHL games with Anaheim and New Jersey, totaling 24 goals and 21 assists for 45 points.

The native of Plano, Texas, last played in the AHL during the 2016-17 season, when he notched 15 points in 22 games with San Diego. He has registered 23 goals and 40 assists for 63 points in 116 career AHL contests with San Diego and Norfolk.

Noesen, who attended camp with the Dallas Stars this fall, played four seasons of junior hockey at Plymouth (OHL), skating for current Penguins head coach Mike Vellucci.
