QMJHL Roundup: Oceanic top Tigres 3-2 in OT, Armada remain undefeated

RIMOUSKI, Que. – Julien Beland scored 54 seconds into overtime to give the Rimouski Oceanic a 3-2 victory over the Victoriaville Tigres in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League action Sunday.

Xavier Cormier and Frederic Brunet each had a goal and an assist for the Oceanic, who improved to 3-1-0 on the season.

The Tigres forced overtime when Egor Goriunov put a puck in the back of the net to tie the game at 2-2 with less than 90 seconds left on the clock.

Loick Daigle also scored for Victoriaville (2-1-1).

Patrik Hamrla made 15 saves for the win while Tigres goalie Nikolas Hurtubise stopped 21-of-24 shots.

PHOENIX 7 CATARACTES 5

SHERBROOKE, QUE. — Stephane Jr. Huard buried the game winner for the Phoenix (2-2-0) in a high-scoring battle with the Cataractes (1-1-2). Xavier Parent added an insurance goal for Sherbrooke, scoring on a penalty shot with less than two minutes to go after Marc-Antoine Pepin was called for tripping.

OLYMPIQUES 6 HUSKIES 4

GATINEAU, QUE. — Kieran Craig scored twice — including on an empty-net — and the Olympiques (1-1-2) got their first win of the season. Mathis Dorcal-Madore stopped 33-of-38 shots for the Huskies (2-3-0), who lost their third game in a row.

ARMADA 6 VOLTIGEURS 3

DRUMMONDVILLE, QUE. — Oleksiy Myklukha scored a hat trick as Blainville-Boisbriand (5-0-0) doubled up Drummondville (1-2-1). Armada right-winder Simon Pinard tallied four assists to help his team stay undefeated.

WILDCATS 4 EAGLES 2

SYDNEY, N.S. — Alexis Daniel had a goal and an assist to lift Moncton (2-2-0) to victory over Cape Breton (1-2-1). Remi Delafontaine stopped 17-of-21 shots for the Eagles and Thomas Couture had 32 saves to collect a win for the Wildcats.
