WHL Roundup: Daylan Kuefler stars in overtime as Blazers edge Giants 4-3

LANGLEY, B.C. – Daylan Kuefler scored twice, including in overtime, as the Kamloops Blazers edged the Vancouver Giants 4-3 on Friday in Western Hockey League action.

Kuefler tied the game 3-3 with 29 seconds left in the third period for Kamloops (38-14-2). Connor Levis and Quinn Schmiemann also scored for the Blazers.

Dylan Ernst made 25 saves for the win.

Zack Ostapchuk had a pair of goals for Vancouver (20-26-3) and Cole Shepard added a single.

Jesper Vikman stopped all eight shots he faced in 17:55 of work in the Giants net. Will Gurski turned aside 33-of37 shots in relief.

Kamloops went 1 for 6 on the power play and Vancouver could not score on its one man advantage.

Elsewhere in the WHL, Portland doubled Everett 4-2, Kelowna edged Victoria 5-4 in overtime, Spokane slipped past Prince George 4-3, Seattle topped Tri-City 3-1, Brandon bested Lethbridge 6-3, Edmonton routed Calgary 7-2, Prince Albert beat Moose Jaw 5-3, Red Deer eked out a 3-2 win over Regina, and Winnipeg had a 4-3 overtime win over Saskatoon.
