OHL Roundup: Foster’s OT winner seals 67’s 3-2 comeback victory over Petes

PETERBOROUGH, Ont. – Cooper Foster netted the game-winning goal with 1:36 remaining in the third period as the Ottawa 67’s rallied to defeat the Peterborough Petes 3-2 on Thursday.

Logan Morrison led Ottawa (37-11-2-2) with two goals. Collin MacKenzie made 40 saves.

J.R. Avon and Samuel Mayer replied for Peterborough (26-23-1-2), which dropped its third in a row. Michael Simpson stopped 40-of-43 shots.

Mayer’s marker put the home side up 2-1 7:56 into the final frame. But Morrison’s second of the game at 13:28 knotted up the contest before Foster scored the winner.

The two sides combined for 40 shots on goal in the third period.

WINDSOR, ONT. — Brett Harrison capped his hat trick with the game-winning goal at 2:59 of overtime as the Windsor Spitfires edged the Flint Firebirds 6-5.

Alex Christopoulos, with two goals, and Matthew Maggio also scored for Windsor (36-12-3-1). Mathias Onuska made 37 saves.

Amadeus Lombardi, Kaden Pitre, Gavin Hayes, Ethan Hay and Dmitry Kuzmin replied for Flint (24-25-4-1). Will Cranley stopped 26-of-32 shots.

NORTH BAY, ONT. — Carey Terrance scored twice, Alexis Daviault had a goal and two assists and the Erie Otters topped the North Bay Battalion 5-3.

Colby Saganiuk and Pano Fimis added the others for Erie (17-28-1-4). Nolan Lalonde made 24 saves.

Dalyn Wakely, with two goals, and Anthony Romani scored for North Bay (35-15-1-1). Charlie Robertson stopped 14-of-18 shots in the first two periods before Dom DiVincentiis turned aside all nine shots he faced in relief.
