Gulls finish off Barracuda in Game 4

The San Diego Gulls are heading to the Pacific Division Finals after a 5-2 win over San Jose at SAP Center on Wednesday night.

The Gulls won the series, three games to one, and will face either Bakersfield or Colorado as they reach the second round for the third time in four years.

Andy Welinski‘s first goal in 22 career Calder Cup Playoff games snapped a 1-1 tie early in the second period and gave the Gulls the lead for good.

Sam Carrick, Sam Steel, Adam Cracknell and Chase De Leo also scored and Jeff Glass (3-1) turned aside 30 shots in the victory.

Alexander True scored 50 seconds into Game 4, giving the Barracuda a 1-0 lead for the fourth game in a row. Nick DeSimone had the other goal for San Jose.

Josef Korenar (1-3) made 25 saves in the loss.
