Charlotte hosts Toronto in Game 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals with a chance to close out the series and earn the right to play for the Calder Cup… The Checkers took a 3-2 series lead by winning of two of three games in Toronto, including a 4-1 victory in Game 5 on Friday night… Nicolas Roy (3-8-11) scored a shorthanded goal for the second consecutive game, and Haydn Fleury (2-1-3) also scored while a man down… With forwards Tomas Jurco (6-6-12) and Martin Necas (2-4-6) scratched for Game 5, Steven Lorentz (1-3-4) and Stelios Mattheos (2-1-3) drew into the lineup and combined for the game-winning goal early in the second period… Dustin Tokarski (3-0, 0.77, .974) made 40 saves for Charlotte, improving to 10-0-0 with a .961 save percentage in his 10 games in a Checkers uniform… Tokarski is also 6-0 (1.19, .955) in seven career playoff appearances against the Marlies… Trevor Moore (5-3-8) scored Toronto’s only goal in Game 5, his first of the series… Michael Hutchinson (0-1, 3.88, .821) made his first start since Apr. 3 and finished with 20 saves for the Marlies… Chris Mueller (5-5-10) skated in his 100th career Calder Cup Playoff game on Friday, becoming the 20th player in league history to reach that plateau… The Marlies are 3-for-20 on the power play in the series (15.0 percent); the Checkers are 1-for-14 (7.1 percent)… Toronto is 5-1 on the road this postseason; Charlotte is 5-1 at home.
