Hall is eligible to sign an extension after July 1st. He has a year left on his contract at $6 million.

Hall’s agent Darren Ferris via when asked about negotiations.

“Ray and I communicate regularly and to respect the process I am unable to provide you with any details.”

  • Pagnotta: Clarifying Ferris’ comment – it was a response to the negotiation process and not a comment on the report.

It would be a surprise now if the Devils didn’t explore the idea of trading Hall.

Some notes and quotes from Bob McKenzie’s Bobcast

McKenzie added that it’s more likely than not that Skinner re-signs.

Prospects_Watch: McKenzie says the Nashville Predators would like to sign defenseman Roman Josi to a contract extension this offseason.

The Predators may need to create some salary cap space and could look at trading P.K. Subban and Kyle Turris.

Prospects_Watch: McKenzie says that the Pittsburgh Penguins could still end up trading Phil Kessel to the Minnesota Wild. If Kessel eventually agrees, it would like be a one-for-one deal with Jason Zucker going to the Penguins.

Prospects_Watch: McKenzie says that Kessel would love to play under head coach Rick Tocchet with the Arizona Coyotes.

The Penguins may feel at this time there is not a deal to be made there.
