Ducks sign Martinsen to deal

The Anaheim Ducks announced today that the club has signed left wing Andreas Martinsen to a one-year, two-way contract.

Martinsen, 29, notched three goals and eight assists for 11 points in 38 AHL games with the Rockford IceHogs last season. He also tallied one goal and three assists in 24 NHL games with the Chicago Blackhawks.

In four seasons of play in North America, Martinsen has appeared in 152 NHL contests with Chicago, Montreal and Colorado, totaling nine goals and 14 assists for 23 points. He has also skated in 112 AHL games with Rockford and San Antonio, collecting 16 goals and 25 assists for 41 points.

A native of Baerum, Norway, Martinsen became the eighth Norwegian player to appear in an NHL game when he made his league debut Nov. 10, 2015 vs. Philadelphia.
