The Anaheim Ducks have signed forwards Chase De Leo and Justin Kloos and defenseman Chris Wideman to one-year, two-way contracts through 2019-20.
De Leo, 23, set career highs with 20 goals, 35 assists, 55 points and a plus-16 rating in 66 games with the AHL’s San Diego Gulls last season, his fourth as a pro. He also became the fourth Southern California native ever to play for the Ducks, appearing in one game.
De Leo also skated in 16 playoff games, scoring five goals as the Gulls reached the Western Conference Finals.
A fourth-round choice by Winnipeg in the 2014 NHL Draft, De Leo has totaled 65 goals and 97 assists for 162 points in 277 regular-season AHL games with San Diego and Manitoba. He has also skated in three NHL games with the Ducks and Jets.
Kloos, 25, recorded 18 goals and 27 assists for 45 points in 59 AHL games between San Diego and Iowa last season, his second pro campaign. He also skated in one NHL game with Anaheim, and added three goals and six assists in 16 Calder Cup Playoff games for the Gulls.
Acquired by the Ducks from Minnesota on Jan. 16, 2019, Kloos has notched 38 goals and 58 assists for 96 points in 144 career AHL games with San Diego and Iowa. He also has two NHL games to his credit.
Wideman, 29, played for five clubs in 2018-19, including 19 games in the AHL where he totaled three goals and 12 assists beween Springfield and Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Wideman also recorded two goals and five assists in 25 NHL games with Ottawa, Edmonton and Florida.
The winner of the Eddie Shore Award as the AHL’s top defenseman in 2014-15, Wideman has 33 goals and 112 assists for 145 points in 227 career AHL games with Springfield, Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Binghamton.
He has also skated in 181 career NHL games, recording 16 goals and 29 assists for 45 points.
