Panthers re-sign goaltender Montembeault

The Florida Panthers have agreed to terms with goaltender Sam Montembeault on a one-year, two-way contract.

Montembeault, 22, made his NHL debut with the Panthers in 2018-19, owning a 4-3-2 record, a 3.05 goals-against average and an .894 save percentage in 11 appearances.

In 39 AHL games with the Springfield Thunderbirds, Montembeault was 13-16-8 (3.24, .899) with one shutout and represented the club at the 2019 AHL All-Star Classic.

Originally selected by Florida in the third round (77th overall) of the 2015 NHL Draft, Montembeault has appeared in 80 AHL games over his first two pro seasons with Springfield (26-39-11, 3.24, .898).
