Marlies sign forward Baptiste

The Toronto Marlies announced today that the hockey club has signed forward Nicholas Baptiste.

Baptiste, 24, was acquired by the Toronto Maple Leafs in a trade with Nashville on Feb. 24, 2019. He totaled 14 goals and 15 assists for 29 points in 73 regular-season AHL games between the Marlies and Milwaukee last season, his fourth pro campaign. He added one goal in 13 postseason games as the Marlies reached the Eastern Conference Finals.

Originally a third-round pick by Buffalo in the 2013 NHL Draft, Baptiste has appeared in 47 career NHL games with the Sabres, registering seven goals and three assists.
