QMJHL Roundup: Struggling Eagles top Phoenix, Islanders edge Titan in OT

SHERBROOKE, Que. – Remi Delafontaine stopped 54 shots and the Cape Breton Eagles captured a rare win Sunday, topping the Sherbrooke Phoenix 6-4 in Quebec Junior Hockey League action.

Jeremy Langois, Carter McCluskey and Nicholas Girouard each had a goal and assist, while Cam Squires, Lucas Canning and Francois-James Buteau also scored for the Eagles (9-21-5).

The Phoenix (22-8-3) got a goal and two assists from Joshua Roy, one of each from Xavier Parent and single tallies from Tyson Hinds and Israel Mianscum.

Ivan Zhigalov stopped 15-of-20 shots for Sherbrooke.

SHAWINIGAN, QUE. — Antoine Coulombe stopped all 26 shots he faced as Shawinigan (23-9-3) blanked Baie-Comeau (10-17-8). Pierrick Dube scored the game’s lone goal on a third-period power play.

ISLANDERS 6 TITAN 5 (OT)

BATHURST, N.B. — Michael Horth scored 3:16 into overtime and Charlottetown (26-7-2) extended their win streak to eight straight games with a victory over Acadie-Bathurst (28-11-4). Riley Kidney had two goals and an assist for the Islanders.
